The Honeywell Performance Modeling Library (PML) is another approach
that uses VHDL for system level performance modeling. The PML
implements a token-based approach. Use of the PML requires a
simulation-based analysis because, unlike ADEPT, the PML does not have a
rigid underlying mathematical (i.e. Petri Net) model. The PML
library, however, offers components with more complex behavior than
the ADEPT modules.
